Mountains of Fun

The Rockies, the Cariboo and the Monashee Mountains surround Valemount. Mount Robson —the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies— is a 20-minute-drive from the village. Mount Robson Park is home to black bears, grizzlies, moose, and elk. Each year in August, Chinook salmon spawn just outside the Village.

More than 500 hotel rooms provide comfort for visitors on their way to Vancouver or Jasper. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the local mountains in summer and winter. Summer activities include heli-hiking, mountain biking, rafting, and canoeing. Visitors can also explore the backcountry on horseback or on a guided ATV tour. Two golf courses guarantee breath-taking scenery and no waiting. In the winter, Valemount becomes the capital of alpine snowmobiling.
